PDC World Darts Championship
If Gurney wins his prelim, take him at around 7/4 to beat Andy Smith. Very capable player & Smith has lost round 1 in 3 of last 4 years.
Jenkins v Brown Under 16.5 legs at 10/11 (Blue SQ). Expecting Jenkins to win this one easily as Brown has had a poor year & comes into this match showing little form. Brown 48th in the world for the year and only progressed past last 32 twice in 30+ t’ments. Won’t have 17 legs.
Burnett v Hubbard – Should be a bit of a classic. Both score well and both are a bit ropey on the doubles. Burnett will oblige at 4/6 but Hubbard over 3.5 180s at 11/10 (Boyles) gets my money. He’s hit 10 in 37 legs on TV this year & we’ll see at least 4 sets so should cover.
Pietersen (thanks to
@Dazzler170 ) threw 17 180s in his last 3 qualifying matches & averaged close to 97 in the final. Both will push Ovens. Take either Pietersen or Hopp to beat Ovens. Hopp has beaten Jenkins & Beaton this year in 1 tournament & was French Open runner-up.
Under 12.5 legs in Taylor v Mansell at 4/6. If Taylor wins each set, it means Mansell winning 4 legs. Struggle to see that happening.
Cullen at 13/8. Higher ranked than Part for the year & 6 of Part’s last 7 TV matches has seen him average less than 90.
Tichowitsch +2.5 sets @ Evens. Happy to take Chisnall to lose a set with his doubling. If T’sch keeps close order, he’ll punish those misses
