Premier League Darts Betting Preview

Info from @DaveWholey

Surprised Wes Newton is as big as 2/1 to be relegated in the Premier League.  Has a winning record against only 1 player (van Gerwen) and has a televised record of 5 wins & 21 losses against the 9 players in total.  Can’t see how he’s a bigger price than Hamilton.

Also think Wade to get relegated at 3/1 deserves a little attention. Slow starter in this format in the last few years & in this company will get punished. 0 wins in the first 3 matches last year, 1 win in the first 5 in 2011, 0 wins in the first 5 in 2010.

Gary Anderson looks a big price at 11/2 to hit most 180s in the PL. Averaged 1 every 2.67 legs at the Worlds.  The nearest to him was van Gerwen with one every 3.19 legs. Pissed it by 12 180s in 2011 and should get nearer than 11/2 suggests.

With the shorter format, I’m also going to perm draws each week (trebles upwards).  10xTrebles, 5x4folds and a 5fold making 16 units.  Looking at this week, 3 draws get you at least 65 times your initial stake. 4 draws could net you back 849 times your initial. 5 draws you can look to retire.

Match Day 1

Fancy Hamilton to beat Thornton tomorrow at 11/8. Lost to the eventual winner in 5 of 7 tournaments last year & usually grinds out wins against lesser opponents. Thornton was woeful at the World Cup (averaged sub 75 in 1 match) & Hamilton will punish a sloppy performance.

Newton DNB at 23/20 against Wade. I know I’ve tipped up Newton to get relegated but Wade’s not win his 1st match since his PL debut in 2008.

Can’t say I agree with Whitlock being underdog tomorrow vs Lewis. Won 6 of their last 7 meetings & bar 4 legs vs Ronny Huybrechts, Lewis was utter gash at the weekend. Still pissing about with his Darts as well. Whitlock at 11/8 or DNB at 10/11 are worth a play.

6 or more 180s at Evens in Taylor v van Gerwen looks an odd price. van Gerwen could hit 6 on his own & Taylor usually puts on a show on  the opening night. He’s gone 6, 5, 2, 8 in the last 4 years on the opening night & the 2 was when he had ‘flu’ at the O2 against Lewis.

One for big hitters – Any match to have over 100 average at 2/9. Landed in 31 of the last 33 Premier League weeks. Shorter format also helps

Over 28.5 180s at 5/6 as well looks a good bet. Happened in the opening night in last 3 years & we’ve gained potentially an extra 4 legs.

Adding Barney DNB to my portfolio tonight. Lost only 1 of the last 6 on TV vs Anderson. Taking the security with DNB.
